This course meets the State‑mandated requirements for preparing students to take the exam for State certification for entry‑level or on‑call or volunteer firefighters. This course provides an introduction to basic fire suppression, prevention procedures, and skill development.
Persons taking this course must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Michigan driver’s license, and no felony convictions.įIRE‑2000 is for students who are currently employed by a fire department recognized by the Michigan Fire Marshall, are currently seeking employment, and/or are a volunteer in a recognized fire district. Prerequisites: Consent of Department and acceptable score on reading placement test.
